Dr. Linda Jankd, Family PhysicianDr. Linda Jando
 Family Physician

Dr. Linda Jando completed her B.Sc. (honours Biochemistry/Chemistry), her M.D. and C.C.F.P. degrees from UBC. Dr. Jando afterwards completed a women’s health fellowship. She has been teaching for UBC medical school since 1999, holding the position of Clinical Assistant Professor for UBC, for the Department of Family Practice. She integrates the training of medical students and resident doctors into her office care of patients. Working as a team to interview, examine, and discuss options for patient care. She focuses on family practice, and is skilled with care of infants, children, teenagers, and adults of all ages. She performs office surgical procedures regularly, including skin surgery, IUD insertion, and emergency stitches. She works in conjunction with a delivery doctor for pregnant women, taking on some prenatal care, and referring to the maternity doctor for the delivery. She then sees mom and the baby back after the delivery, and does the infant growth checks and vaccinations. She takes a “patient centered” approach to managing illnesses, providing options for treatment, and then has the patient guide, within reason, the direction of their treatment. Of course, for serious and life-threatening illnesses, she will strongly advise patients of the safest medical management. Her practice runs as a group, and in her absence, she prefers patients to see another doctor at the clinic. In this manner, all the chart records are kept in one place, minimizing any medical errors, and will allow her to follow-up when she returns.
